Coagulation and flocculation
Reagent selection and dosing start with wastewater characterisation. Tests assess floc formation and subsequent separation; there is no single recipe for every wastewater.
Physicochemical treatment can separate wastewater components through coagulation, flocculation and solids separation. Sereco assesses its use according to analyses, flow rate and its role within the treatment train.

DAF uses microbubbles to support the separation of suspended and floatable materials. It can be considered for wastewater containing fats, oils and solids, as pretreatment or within an integrated treatment train.
The choice is not simply between physicochemical and biological treatment: the processes can serve different roles within the same train. In Sereco’s 300 m³/day food industry project, DAF precedes oxidation and MBR. This is a documented application whose sequence must be reassessed for each new wastewater.
Share the wastewater source, average and peak flows, available analyses, production variability, existing treatment train and intended effluent destination. Sereco’s team can assess the necessary tests, pretreatment and sludge management.
